Description

If ever there was a quintessential Southern California beach, I do believe that Zuma is it. Beautiful sand, beautiful weather, beautiful surf, and yes, beautiful people. Remember Baywatch? That was Zuma.

At nearly 2 miles long, and really wide, Zuma is great for swimming, surfing, body surfing, windsurfing, fishing and watching the winter migration of the grey whales. .

Its waters may be a little cooler than at other L.A. beaches, but it consistently ranks as one of the healthiest beaches for clean water conditions in L.A. County. It's also ranked as one of the top 3 surfing spots in L.A. County. On the downside, Zuma is also known for its rough surf and riptides.

Parking is ample at the beach with 8 parking lots and roughly 2000 parking spaces. This beach is a favorite among locals and people who drive up from L.A. There are food stands at both ends of the beach. Point Dume State Beach is at southern end of Zuma Beach. This is a beautiful beach too. Remember Planet of the Apes? That was Point Dume. Movies and beaches? This is L.A. after all.
