Description
Woodlake Park is noted for having Sacramento's Police and Sheriff Memorial. It is a very powerful and moving memorial. The park is actually bisected by Arden Way and its three sand pits, lighted tennis courts, and the memorial are on the other side of the street. Park users are also advised to use the regional transit parking lot for parking across the street.
Regional Transit also means trains! The light rail train track runs by the park. There is a station right next to the memorial.
Woodlake also has a fenced-in play area with two separate play structures, both with castle themes. When I visited there was new tanbark covering. There are lots of benches and several trees that provide a good amount of shade, but not over the play areas. My photos were from a visit at 7:30 am, thus the shade.
