Sycamore Valley Park is a beautiful park off of Camino Tassajara Road. It shares a parking lot with Sycamore Valley Elementary school.

The park has two play areas with multiple structures, a water feature, a sand pit, four bocce ball courts, a lagoon with a fountain, a beautiful walking/riding paths from the play areas to the lagoon, a tricycle/bicycle course complete with stop signs, a beautiful artificial turf ball field with lights for either baseball, softball or soccer, and lots of shade.

The play areas were completely redone in the early 2010's and thankfully, the city put in the new structures that not only look cool, but are also great for playing on. Both play areas have very colorful rubberized turf. The sand pit and water feature separate the two play areas with benches all around. A covered picnic area is also nearby which makes for easy supervising.

The ages 2-5 play structure has some great climbing opportunities along with two slides. That play area also has a cool spinning structure that was a big hit among all of the kids while we were visiting. There is a smaller climbing wall, a climbing arch, a three-way teeter-totter, and two tot swings to complete the play area.

On the other side is the extensive play structure for ages 5-12, a climbing spider web, a huge climbing wall, and some fun spinning structures. This play structure is quite big and has lots of climbing and sliding parts to it in addition to three slides. I watched numerous kids approach the tall climbing wall with trepidation and as they progressed those looks changed to determination as they would make it to the top. Very cool to see.

The water feature has cannons and probably sprays and fountains of some kind. It looked very fun, but is closed indefinitely by the town of Danville due to water concerns.

However, the lagoon and its fountain were running. This is a very peaceful part of the park away from the joyous shouts of the kids. No one can go in the water, but it didn't stop my kids from floating branches down its stream and getting their hands wet. They really enjoyed this.
