Stulsaft park has a play area is split into 3 sections on 2 levels. It's really neat that kids (and adults) can access the lower level via 3 slides if they wish.
The front area closest Farm Hill Blvd is the water feature with its colorful crayon sprays and fountains. The water play area is sunken from street level and there is a fence separating it, so I felt my daughter was completely safe.
Behind the water play area, but at the same level is the sand area- don't forget sand toys - and a little kid play structure. There's very little shade over the little kid play area, but there's shaded seating nearby.
The big kid play area is on the lower level. It's very separate from the little kid play structure and the water play area. Supervising both levels at once would be a challenge. I was surprised at how little play equipment there was for the big kids. This area has 4 swings, a basketball hoop on hard-packed dirt, and 3 small pieces of play equipment. We did appreciate the shaded picnic tables though.
Stulsaft park is actually a huge park at 42 acres. The majority of those acres are back country hiking areas far from the play area. Summer day camps are held in the back area and it's popular with dog owners because of the large off-leash areas. Warning- evidence of mountain lion activity has been found within the park boundaries several times.
