Sea World San Antonio is the world's largest marine-life theme park. It has 250 acres of roller coasters and thrill rides, kiddie rides (Sesame Street Bay of Play), shows and exhibits, animal tours, and plus so much more.
There are rides for both adults and kids. The Great White is a floorless roller coaster that races along at 50 mph. The Steel Eel is a hypercoaster with a vertical drop of 15 stories. The Journey to Atlantis is a family water ride guaranteed to get you wet. For kids there is the Rio Loco which is a river ride on a circular raft. Finally, the Shamu Express is a smaller sized roller coaster perfect for the thrill-seeking kiddo.
Sea World has seven shows featuring animals, singers, comedians, water skiers, and even Elmo! There's no shortage of entertainment. If you'd rather get closer to the animals, there are seven exhibits ranging from sea lions to dolphins to flamingos to penguins and a shark exhibit. And of course, there is the requisite Boardwalk Games of skill area.
Sea World offers several tours and encounters with various animals. These are very cool. However, the price is not included in general admission.
In May of 2012 Sea World opened a revamped adjacent water park named Aquatica. Aquatica is huge! It has 13 different water related rides. There are meandering rivers and racing rides, two terraced pools, a giant wave pool, and much more.
Tickets for Aquatica are not available separately. They must be purchased in conjunction with a Sea World admission. A single day ticket for Sea World and Aquatica is $69.
