Description
Santa Monica Pier is packed with things to do. The main attraction seems to be Pacific Park Family Amusement Park, but there are many other cool activities too.
There is the Playland Arcade, the Carousel with its historical landmark building and vintage merry-go-round, the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, the Trapeze School of New York, and several restaurants and shops. I had no idea.
Pacific Park features 12 rides, one of which is California's only solar-powered Ferris wheel. The view from atop the Ferris wheel is gorgeous at 130 feet above the pier. Roughly half of the rides have height requirements and on the other half kids can either ride by themselves or with chaperones.
Let's not forget the beach too. Santa Monica beach is staffed by lifeguards during all daylight hours and is kept in great condition by the city of Santa Monica.
