Description
Rochambeau Playground is a really nice playground in San Francisco's Avenues area. The play structures and clubhouse are very brightly colored and look newer. A few things that this playground has that others nearby don't are a sand digger, four-square and hopscotch courts, and two separate play areas for older and younger kids.
The ages 2-5 play area has sand and a newer play structure with three slides. The play structure has a very cute boat theme. This area also has a separate sand box with the digger. There is lots of room for kids to run around. Plus, there are plenty of benches next to the sand area..
The ages 5-12 play area is a little crowded since it has a big play structure. The play structure has a small climbing wall, a bridge, a spiral slide, and a climbing arch. It is in the shape of a half circle so kids can start at one end and make their way via walking and climbing to the other end. It, too, has plenty of benches for adults to sit and rest at. One of the big kid swings is also wheelchair accessible.
Rochambeau also has a tennis court, basketball courts, and an active recreation center. Not only is the playground fenced in with only two gated entrances, but the tot area is fenced in with one gated entrance too. Supervision is easy!
