Val Vista's two water features have cement ground cover with several water structures. The main water feature at the end of the parking lot has three arches that spurt water, a shower, and several fountains.
One unique thing about this water feature is its connection to an area in the center of the picnic tables with cement mounds that is great for boats and such. Kids tromp and climb around in this area. The water then drains down a man-made rock and cement creek. Kids can explore this area too.
Val Vista's other water feature is in the center of the park between the soccer fields. It is motion-activated by pushing a hand pad. It has a couple of fountains and a tree shower. There is not much shade in this play area though, so unless you were wet, you might suffer a bit. However, both are great places to cool off in the summer's heat!
Be sure to check the city of Pleasanton's website for days and hours of water operation.
Special thanks to Jennifer for the photos.
