Description
Pismo State Beach is 17 miles long. It stretches from Pismo Beach in the north to Oceano in the south. Pismo Beach and Oceano Dunes are almost one in the same, so vehicles are allowed on the beach in certain parts here also.
In the town of Pismo Beach the Splash Cafe is not to be missed. It's a block from the beach and right near the pier.
Swimming, hiking, surf fishing, and digging for the famous Pismo Clam are very popular activities here. Camping is also allowed at two campgrounds: The Oceano Campgroundand The North Beach Camground.
Pismo State Beach has the largest wintering grove of monarch butterflies in the U.S. The easiest access to the Pismo Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove is from the North Campground.
