Description

Oak Hill Park is a big, beautiful park at 43 acres. It's an important community park for Danville. It hosts the city's Music in The Park summer concert series and youth camps.

The park also is a beautiful setting for a wedding or event. The community center overlooks the lake with its fountain and ducks gliding peacefully by. There's also a great group picnic area by the sand volleyball court.

I liked Oak Hill play area because it was different than the other area parks. It has a small play structure, but the kids weren't playing on that. They were sliding down the hill slide, climbing the caterpillar-like climber, playing house in the log cabins, and swinging in the swings and tire swing.

I'm sure that the water feature is a fun attraction when it's on too. Be sure to walk beyond the play area and community center to the War Memorial. Very touching. If you're up for a heart-pounding hike, try the trails from the park into the hills.
