Description
The highlight of Nojoqui Falls Park is the falls themselves. They're 100 ft. falls accessible by a 0.3 mile hike with a 225 ft. elevation gain. The trail is well maintained and very pretty. The lush forest up to the falls is almost unbelievable given Southern California's typical scrub brush landscape.
The falls never erode like normal waterfalls because of calcium build-up. They're are at their best after rains, but I'm sure they're beautiful anytime, especially during the winter.
It took us roughly 1/2 hour with a 6 and 3 year old to hike up to them. We stayed longer though and played at the two playgrounds. Nojoqui Falls Park is probably most used by large groups for picnicking. There are many reservable group picnic sites and a couple of ball fields.
If you're on Highway 101, it's a shame not to stop and see it. The park is less than 2 miles from the freeway.
