Description

Newhall Community Park is one of the larger parks in Concord at 126 acres. 30 acres of that is developed with access to a fenced play area with tanbark covering, ponds, Galindo Creek, bocce ball courts, a dog park named the "Paw Patch", and athletic fields.

There are two main play structures in the fenced play area. Each play structure has multiple slides. There also is a spider web for climbing and some very cool climbing trees. Beware that the bathrooms are far away from the play area.

The main parking lots are off of Turtle Creek Road and Newhall Parkway. The play area is closest to the Turtle Creek Road parking lot. There are some benches at the play area, but limited picnic areas and limited shade.

Most of Newhall Community Park is undeveloped with over two miles of multi-use trails. Joggers, bicyclists, hikers, and horseback riders use the trails. There is a very cool view of the Carquinez Straits to Mount Diablo from the top of the hill.

A very special thanks to Trang Worline for sending the pictures and description!
