Description
Montclair Park is located on the north side of 580 in the community of Montclair in Oakland. It is a 7 acre community park with so much to offer.
One neat feature is a large duck pond with a fountain. On the back side of the pond are stepping stones to walk across the pond. Be careful not to get wet- been there, done that with my son.
There is an active recreation center with bathrooms, a ball field, tennis courts, a small skate boarding ramp, and three different play areas. One play area is a really neat mock western town with an open building for running in and out of, a stagecoach for climbing in and out of, and horses for climbing on and off. Can you tell my kid likes climbing?
The tot play area has sand covering and is fenced in. There is one play structure with four slides and a playhouse. These both are new.
The older kid play area is not new and is, unfortunately, showing its age. It has sand also, the swings, a small tunnel, two slides and a zip line. There are lots of ways to climb up the structure and lots of monkey bars. The older kid play area has lots of shade, but no benches for sitting down to supervise.
