Description
San Ramon Memorial Park is a big 16 acre park with a play area, a BMX course, a picnic area, a bocce ball court, horseshoe courts, a ball field, and a dog park. The BMX course is described on another San Ramon Parks page.
The play area has two big play structures, one for ages 2-5 and another for ages 5-12. The one for ages 2-5 has two swings, and four slides. My daughter spent hours climbing up the stairs and then sliding down the slide. The play structure for ages 5-12 has four sets of monkey bars, six big kid swings, a zip line, and three slides.
Between the two play areas is a great sand pit with a mechanical digger. There are benches with shade beside the sand pit, so it is easy to sit down and supervise play in the pit and on the play structures.
There is a flat path around the ball field, so it could be great for practicing bike riding for those not yet up to the BMX bike course level. One other thing to note is that the bathrooms are across the parking lot and thus quite far away from the play areas.
