Description
McKinley Park is a neat little park in central Alameda that backs a high school football field. All of the play equipment is new and has unique features. The play equipment and hopscotch markings are very bright and cheery.
The park itself is older with mature trees and lots of shade. It is next to a busy street, but we forgot all about that while playing there. There are two play structures with sand covering. The tot play structure is very small, but the big kid play structure makes up for it.
The big kid structure has a very tall bumpy slide, a climbing wall, and for lack of a better description, a fish for climbing up its spines. There is a basketball court, lots of blacktop markings for ball and running games, and an active recreation center. The park is small, but just lovely.
