Description
Live Oak Park is a nice park on Shattuck's north side. It's actually been ths site of a park since 1916. Today there are two play areas, two lighted tennis courts, two lighted basketball courts, a volleyball court, an Art and Garden Center, The Live Oak Theater, and a recreation center. Many community festivals take place here.
The play areas are separated by a fence. The big kids get a 3-story play structure with two slides. The entrance to the stairs for the play structure and the swings are located on rubberized turf for easy access. The rest of the play area is tanbark.
The tot play area is totally fenced in next to the recreation center and away from the street. It has a small play structure, four swings, a four person teeter-totter and some rocking animals.
The park is adjacent to Cordonices Creek. It's great to explore the paths that meander next to the creek and enjoy its calming babble.
