Description
Lincoln Park is one of the older parks in Alameda. The entrance on High Street has these beautiful old metal fences that enclose the park. There are numerous big old shade trees that keep everything cool.
It also is one of the parks in Alameda with lots of amenities. Lincoln Park has two play structures, a rose garden, lots of manicured grounds, basketball court, tennis court, bocce ball court, handball court, very small skateboard area, ball fields, private swimming pool, and a recreation center.
The play structures are new and provide lots of opportunities for climbing and playing tag. There are many benches to sit on and watch the kids having fun. The older kids area also has the big, long swings that go really high
There are two entrances to the park. There is a primary walk in entrance on High Street, with only street parking and then there is a back entrance on Fernside with a small parking lot. Go slowly into the lot, the road in is a one-way only road.
Lincoln Park is a great park with a new play structure, but an old feel. Every time I am there I think of Victorian ladies walking through the park with their big skirts and children in prams. I am sure it holds many precious memories for thousands of residents.
