Description
Leydecker Park has a fenced play structure area right in front of the recreation center. The play structure has three small climbing walls.
The basketball court here is very popular. There is also a lighted ball field which is used regularly in the evenings. There are tennis courts on the opposite side of the park from the play structure and a good riding path circles the ball field.
The sand area is next to the library behind the recreation center. This was the old site of the play structure. There are a few rocks for climbing at the sand pit, but not much else.
One thing I love about Leydecker is its proximity to the lagoon system that flows through out the Harbor Bay Development. Many times we walk and ride the pathways that are adjacent to the lagoons. This makes our trip last about two hours, possibly three if we eat at La Val's Pizza or La Pinata in the nearby shopping center. There is also an ice cream store there for a cold treat!
