Legoland's theme is their park brings out the hero in everyone. There are now 3 parks on the property. Legoland itself has over 50 rides, shows and attractions to entertain, amuse and amaze for hours.

I have repeatedly heard that the park is best for 3-6 year olds. After having been there, I would argue that kids up to about 12 years old would still be entertained. Especially with some of the more thrilling rides such as The Dragon and Lego Technic Coasters or the Knights Tournament ride.

One thing we really liked about the park is that roughly 1/2 of it seemed to be designed for the younger set and the other half for the older kids. There was no shortage of activities, especially water based, for our (at the time) 3 year old son. Legoland can get surprisingly hot and the water features were wonderful.

I noticed that many playgroups met there, especially since we went on a weekday. Kids and moms came prepared with towels and pre-packed coolers.

Aquarium Sea Life is right next to Legoland. It is designed to be a child's first interactive guide to the life of the sea. The aquarium combines active, hands-on learning with fascinating educational talks, and opportunities to have up close and personal encounters with a variety of sea creatures including sharks. Park hopper tickets can be purchased for both parks.

June of 2010, Legoland opened the world's first Legoland Water Park. Some of its features include: Build-Raft-River where kids can customize their own raft; Orange Rush which is a family tube slide; Splash Out, an 240 ft open slide; Duplo Splash Safari, the kids water play area; and Kid Creek which is the lazy river. There is no better way to beat the summer heat than a water park and a Lego one at that! Park hopper tickets can be purchased for both parks.
