Joinville Park is a really nice park right next to the Joinville Swim Center and Bayside Middle School in San Mateo. One thing we really loved about the park was that we used it as a starting point for a bike ride to Coyote Point Park via the San Francisco Bay Trail. The ride was about 6.5 miles round trip with stops at 2 other parks.
Joinville Park has a fabulous play structure. It's actually a little kid and big kid structure connected together by stairs. The little kid structure is a hexagon shape with features coming off the sides and the big kid is either hexagon or octagon shaped. My kids had more fun playing tag on and around the structure. Dad even joined in. I suppose that's why it's called Joinville Park- it's too fun not to "join in".
In addition to the play area, there are 2 tennis courts, a big ball field, a big group picnic area across the ball field, several picnic tables by the play area, and the swim center.
