Description
John Hinkel Park is an interesting park. Interesting in that it is a beautiful setting, but a terrible play space.
The equipment is old, and in two cases missing significant parts. There's also a big distance between each play thing, so supervision is difficult.
The park's biggest asset is its beautiful amphitheater. Built entirely out of rock, it is a beauty. We watched kids rehearsing Shakespeare as part of a summer drama camp.
John Hinkel Park has two creeks, the Blueberry and the Blackberry, crossing it. If your child loves nature and exploring under rocks and logs and just listening to the sound of the wind through the trees, then this park is for him. If you want a good play space, you might want to check out another park.
