Description
Jack Holland Sr. Park opened in December of 2010. It's such a new park that as of the summer in 2011, Google Maps still shows a large dirt area.
It's a beautiful park with a play area that has rubberized turf, a sunken skate park, a parking lot, bathrooms, and a ball field.
The play area is filled with bright, colorful, and interesting play structures. The play structures are what I would term new type play structures, take two. The structures are of the futuristic, funky design you see in many newer parks now, but modified to be better, so that kids will actually play on them. Plus, they have slides.
The tot play area has a boat theme with two structures connected by a climbing rope. And the big kid play structure has a really tall tube slide. There are several ways to climb up or get down it.
The kids' play area is partially fenced and separated from East 14th by the skate park. So it's pretty safe, just keep an eye on kids who are prone to run.
