Description
Grove Park began in 1950 as just a recreation center. 30 years later, in 1981, the city developed the rest of the park adding a playground, 3 lighted tennis courts, 2 1/2 basketball courts, a volleyball court, and a ball field. The final size of the park is 3 acres.
It's clear that the play areas and other areas have been renovated since then. The park is in very good condition. There are two play areas with the tot play area fenced in and separate from the older kid play area. Both play areas have clean sand. The older kid play area also has a big tree that provides lots of shade.
The Dr. Martin Luther King Youth Services Center is a very active recreation center. It provides after school tutoring, twilight basketball, cultural programs, a computer lab, and many other activities that really benefit the community.
