Description
California's Great America is one of two combination theme and water parks in California. Out of the various Northern California theme parks, it has the most rides, the most coasters, and the most water rides.
Great America has 12 thrill rides; 15 "family rides" (I'm not sure why Psycho Mouse or The Grizzly fall under this category); 18 rides for kids and their parents in Kidzville; Planet Snoopy with its 5 rides; and Boomerang Bay with its 10 water rides/attractions.
Interesting facts: The Demon is the park's oldest roller coaster having opened with the park in 1976. The park's signature Carousel Columbia is one of the world's tallest carousels. The Vortex is Northern California's only stand-up roller coaster. And, according to one poll, The Grizzly was rated the world's worst wooden roller coaster from 2005-2009.
The best value around (for 2011) is to buy a season pass at $59.99 for adults and $39.99 for juniors and seniors.
Bring your swimsuit and towel, your best scream and your stamina to enjoy an exciting day at Great America!
