Description
Glendale-La Loma Park has the most beautiful views. The park isn't easy to find, but looking out over the bay as your children play is really worth it.
The park has three levels, with some steep hills in between each. The baseball field, half basketball court, and restrooms are on the lowest level with trees blocking the views. The next level has the big kid play area and two benches. The highest level is where the tot play area, small parking lot, and best views are.
The big kid play area is a giant sand box with lots of different structures. There are chin-up bars, a zip line, a tall slide, monkey bars, two big kid swings, a moving bridge, a chain net climber, and a rolling log. The equipment is old, but the kids playing tag on it didn't seem to mind.
On the top level, the tot play area has a small, newer structure and a great train structure. There are also three swings, a sand play area, and a really neat ramp area. The kids had more fun hauling the ride-on toys up to the top and rolling down the ramp. This is Berkeley after all, so there were no shortage of ride-on and left behind, donated toys.
