Description
George R. Moscone Recreation Center is a great park bordered by Bay St, Laguna St. and Chestnut St. The children's play area is on Chestnut next to the library.
The play area has a good mix of equipment and is a really nice play area. There is sand and rubberized turf for easy access. There's a teeter-totter, a spinning wheel, a neat Golden Gate Bridge re-creation, a boat themed structure for younger kids, and a good play structure with lots of climbing opportunities for older kids.
The park also has a 4 nice tennis courts, 2 full basketball courts, putting greens, 4 lighted softball/baseball fields with grandstands, a recreation center, and a second, smaller, older play area with just sand. With all of these amenities you can understand that typically the park has a lot of users. Combine that with the usually difficult parking in San Francisco and you can see why finding a parking space is an exercise in patience. Persist and you shall be rewarded.
