Description
Fairmont Ridge is a 280 acre open space with gorgeous views of San Francisco Bay on one side of the ridge and of the East Bay hills on the other side. Highlights of the park include a one mile paved pathway along rolling hills, a beautiful, moving memorial to young victims of violent crime in Alameda County, and a path that follows along the Hayward Fault on the bay side of the ridge.
The park is well loved and constantly used by dogs and their owners. Dogs are allowed off leash past the gate at the parking area as long as they are under voice control. Beware that your hand will probably be licked as you walk along the paths. Cattle are also permitted to graze at Fairmont Ridge and are back as of October 1st.
