Everett Alvarez Jr. Park is a nice 1.5 acre neighborhood park in Santa Clara.
The play area is next to the street, but kind of sunken with a wall and fence surrounding it on the street side. It makes supervision very easy.
Portions of both play structures are wheelchair accessible. It's neat that they designed both play structures to have features that kids can explore with their senses as well as their physical abilities.
The big kid play structure has a neat climbing spider web and a sand digger nearby. It's also covered in shade for a portion of the day. The tot play structure doesn't get any shade.
There's also a 1/2 basketball court, some picnic tables, and a restroom.
Interesting fact, the park was named in honor of Vietnam Prisoner of War (POW) Navy Lieutenant Commander Everett Alvarez Jr., the longest held POW in American history.
