Description

Clayton Community Park is a big park off of Marsh Creek Road. The park is beautiful. I was struck by its vastness. The park contains 3 ball fields that are used extensively, many shaded picnic areas, including for large groups, 2 play areas, bathrooms, lots of parking, and access to the open space above the park.

The play areas are newer with a really nice play structure for the big kids. There are lots of climbing opportunities, a bumpy bridge, a standing swing, 4 slides, and a killer view. The play structure for little kids is nice too. I really like that it is right beside the 2 shaded picnic areas. This makes for easy supervision.

There is a walking/riding path that goes between the play areas, toward the back of the park, and then by a ball field. At the back of the park is where you can enter the Peacock Trail. This 1.27 mile trail takes you up into the open space above the park.

We visited this park in the winter. I imagine it's quite nice in the spring and fall too. Just beware in the summer there is no shade over the play structures.
