Description

Codornices Park is a beloved Berkeley park. In fact, it routinely makes top Bay Area Parks Lists. I can see why Codornices is so loved.

It's probably most famous for either its wonderful 40 ft. cement hill slide or as the park right next to the Berkeley Rose Garden. Cordornices Creek also runs through it on both sides.

There are two play areas. The older kid play area has tanbark, the cement slide, swings, and two play structures. The slide is accessible by some pretty steep stairs. Usually there is cardboard already at the bottom, but it might be wise to bring your own just in case.

The tot play area is fenced in with sand covering and a sand box. The play area has three tot swings, a small play structure, and a train car. Both play areas have benches near them.

Up the hill to the right of the play areas are a few picnic areas, some right next to the creek. In front of the play areas are the basketball court, a field, the baseball field, and the tunnel underneath Euclid to the Rose Garden.

There are three tennis courts and one wall court at the Rose Gardens. In my opinion, the Rose Garden also has a MUCH better bathroom than the one at the park. Just something to keep in mind.
