Description
Christopher Playground is fantastic playground in SF. I agree with two reviews that I read - big kid play structure not appropriate for toddlers and park is free of usual SF paraphernalia, in other words - it's clean. Yes, the big kid play structure isn't appropriate for toddlers - that's why they have their own play structure. Besides the big kid play structure is awesome for big kids!
The park is hidden behind the Diamond Heights Shopping Center. Besides the two big play areas with sand, there's a baseball field, a tennis court, a butterfly garden, an amphitheater, and a good walking/riding path around the ball field. Lots of people bring their dogs here.
The play structures are all wooden with metal slides. The tot play area has a tree that provides some shade. It also has an enclosed club house structure.
The big kid play structure has two sections connected by the highest climbing bridge I think I've ever seen. Everything about the structure is tall. But that makes for even longer slide rides down.
Christopher Playground also has some of the longest swings I've ever seen. Just wonderful for swinging. Bigger kids will love this playground.
