Description
Cull Canyon has a 1.5 acre swim lagoon. It has a cement bottom with a depth of nine feet at the dock. Very safe for diving and jumping.
There is typical playground sand covering the beach, and it is usually deep enough that you won't touch the cement. The drop-off is gradual and there are shallow areas marked by ropes for tots to dig and wade in. Floatation devices are allowed between the shore and the rope.
The swim lagoon is open everyday during the summer from 11 am to 6 pm. It is staffed with lifeguards who sit in three chairs on the beach as well as one chair on the dock. Everyone swimming to the dock must pass a swim test and receive a wrist band.
There are many grassy areas and picnic areas plus two bath houses for changing inside the swim lagoon.
A swim break occurs at 1 pm for 20 minutes. Anyone under 16 years of age is asked to exit the water during this period. I don't know if there is a swim break later in the day too.
We have spent many summer days at Cull Canyon. The entry price is reasonable, the water is guarded and clean, my kids entertain themselves and I can sink into a beach chair and just smile. I love summer!
