Description
Beyer Park in Modesto is a really nice park in the suburbs of the north eastern part of the city. Judging by the play equipment, the park is older, but was really clean and well maintained.
The park has so many amenities. There is the play area with two play structures, a skate park with a bleacher viewing area next to the play area, five lighted tennis courts with bleacher viewing areas, eight horseshoe pits, a petanique pit, two lighted ball fields, two sand volleyball courts, a covered picnic area. and a bridge over a dry creek.
The play area has a sand covering and can be in shaded at different times of the day. It is surrounded by a small grass hill, so supervision is easy. The play structures are older, but there are two tire swings and a total of five slides.
The park is next to Beyer High School and since I was there on a summer weekend, I can't vouch for who hangs out there after school. Be sure to say "Hi" to the tons of ground squirrels for me though.
