Description

Bean Hollow State Beach is a great beach. We had a wonderful time there. We enjoyed finding the animals hidden in the tide pools, building sand castles, running away from the waves, and ducking into hidden crevices.

Dogs are allowed on leash and there were many of them there. The dogs had a great time soaking up the smells of the beach and romping in the waves.

Even though the beach is like a crescent and is mostly protected, there can be bad rip currents and swimming isn't advised. My kids were content to go at most knee dip. That water is chilly!

I think the most special thing about Bean Hollow is the tide pools. In fact, I think they are the best ones south of Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. My daughter loved watching the crabs scuttle around!
