Description
Athan Downs is a 16 acre multi-use park with a really nice play area. There are three play structures in the play area and numerous ball fields. I'm sure the park is quite crowded during baseball and soccer season.
The play areas have sand covering with two big kid play structures and one tot structure. There are four big kid swings, two tot swings and one tire swing by the play structures. Also, there are two zip lines. The tot play structure has a small tunnel and a bridge.
There is tons of shade surrounding the play areas and a great group picnic area among the trees. However, there is no shade directly over the play areas. The bathrooms and the parking lot are very close to the play area and group picnic area.
A sand volleyball court, a half basketball court, tennis courts, and several baseball and soccer fields complete the park. It would be helpful to know which field a game is at since two of the fields are at the very back of the park and quite a walk from the parking lot.
