Description
Anthony Chabot Park is a 5, 067 acre park located only minutes from Castro Valley and 20 minutes from Oakland. It has a beautiful year-round public campground which overlooks Lake Chabot, a public marksmanship range, and miles and miles of hiking and riding trails that make it one of East Bay Regional Park District's most varied parklands.
Visitors can explore over 90 miles of beautiful hiking, horseback riding, and bicycling trails through grasslands, chaparral, and shady eucalyptus groves or along the shores of Lake Chabot. A six-mile section of the Chabot-to-Garin Regional Trail connects Anthony Chabot to Cull Canyon Regional Recreation Area. And the East Bay Skyline National Trail, which traverses 31 miles of East Bay hills from Richmond to Castro Valley, runs the length of the park.
Centerpiece to Anthony Chabot is the Chabot Family Campground, a year-round getaway. The campground has 75 trailer, tent, or walk-in campsites, hot showers, Naturalist-led campfire programs, an amphitheater, and hiking/fishing access to Lake Chabot. Camping site fees begin at only $20.00. I recommend you make reservations early during the summer months. For reservations, telephone 1-888-EBPARKS or 1-888-327-2757 up to 12 weeks in advance, or book a campsite online.
